Abstract	Due to the importance of the public space it is necessary to configure optimal territorial ordering in the informal cities. To achieve it, this study evaluates three examples located in Peru: PREVI Lima, Pachacútec city and La Alameda in Villa El Salvador, studied from the perspective of the public space. In these actions were analyzed physical (formal, functional and constructive), environmental, cultural and social criteria, highlighting their positive and negative aspects, which, when compared with disciplinary references, on the whole have helped to determine some important criteria of design and transformation of the public spaces. The main purpose of the work is to approach some formulas of urban intervention that could have instrumental value to improve and ensure a habitability quality worthy in the human settlements in Peru.
