Abstract	Describir el perfil bioquimico de los pacientes del grupo de autoayuda en Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2. (DM 2). Estudio transversal con todos los pacientes pertenecientes al grupo de autoayuda en DM 2 (n = 50) y de los cuales se obtuvieron los datos sericos de glucosa, colesterol y trigliceridos de los ultimos seis meses, asi como el numero de mediciones realizadas. La edad promedio fue 57.8 anos, predomino el sexo femenino con el 92%. El 66% cumplio con el ejercicio y el 18% no asistia a platicas programadas. El 50% presento obesidad (IMC > 30); se encontro una media de 152.6 mg/dl., 211.5 mg/dl. y 183.96 mg/dl para glicemia central, colesterol y trigliceridos respectivamente. Aun perteneciendo a un grupo de autoayuda, los niveles sericos se mantienen por arriba de lo recomendado, lo que sugiere una mayor interrelacion entre el paciente y los equipos de salud y mayor participacion, asi como una adecuada difusion y promocion de estos grupos. Abstract To describe the biochemical profile in patients of the group of self-help in Diabetes Mellitus type 2. A cross sectional study in the total patients belonged to the group of self-help (n=50).
