| Abstract | Sustainability is one of the many determining factors that affect the preservation of ecosystem services so that the many intervening factors do not affect the provision of public water service. In Colombia, rural areas are the ones with the highest range of ecosystem resources that are often not used in the best way. A particular case is lived by the inhabitants of the Municipality of Nuevo Colón in the Department of Boyacá. There, the territory has a beautiful landscape, in addition to a large quantity of promising fruits and agroindustrial production in the area; It also has three aqueducts that provide public water service, which handle the water supply and care of the ecological zone, affecting its common wealth. For this reason, among the main results it was found a significant feature in the profile of users linked to the conservation of ecosystems; On the other hand, the institutional organization is not always in accordance with the needs of the population of the Municipality of Nuevo Colón. That is why it is important to know what is established in the Political Constitution of Colombia Title XII Chapter V; And other laws and decrees that simplify the duties and rights that users and providers of the public water service have; Likewise, it is fundamental to study the ecosystem services of the area to assess the sustainability of the system, and to see how the social capital and the organizations of the territory promote their care. |
