Prevalencia y experiencia de caries dental de los niños del C.E.B.E Helen Keller, Distrito de Ventanilla, Callao-Perú, en el año 2015

Abstract	Objective: The purpose of the study was to determine the prevalence and caries experience in children from the C.E.B.E Helen Keller school, district of Ventanilla, Callao-Peru, in the year 2015. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, retrospective and observational research was carried out. The sample consisted of 30 students. The information was obtained from a database belonging to the Academic Department of Social Dentistry, data were collected in the C.E.B.E. Helen Keller district of Ventanilla, Callao-Peru in 2015. The variables studied were prevalence and caries experience measured through the DMFT and dmft index. Results: The prevalence of dental caries was of 90% (27 scholars). The caries experiences in the deciduous teeth in the dmft index had a mean of 6.0 (SD.=4.0) and the caries experience in permanent tooth in the DMFT index had a mean of 2.0 (SD. =3.8). Conclusions: High prevalence of dental caries experience was found in children C.E.B.E. Helen Keller Ventanilla district, Callao-Peru in 2015.
