| Abstract | The present work had as aim to develop methodology for the vegetative propagation of jequitiba-rosa (Cariniana estrellensis (Raddi) Kuntze) by the technique of cutting by evaluating: 1) the survival and productive capacity of the strains in successive collections of garden cuttings in clonal, 2) survival, rooting, height, vigor and root biomass and leaf cuttings depending of the application of different dosages of growth regulator (IBA) and type of cutting used. The clonal garden consisted of plants derived from seedlings of seminal material with a density of 9 plants per m established in soil. Evaluations were made on rooting in two period of the year, in a greenhouse (at 120 days) in the shade (at 140 days) and in full sun (at 170 days). The application of IBA did not have major effects in the majority of the evaluated characteristics; however, as for the type of cutting, the apexes were those who presented greats values for the studied characteristics. The survival of strains was 100% and production of shoots showed a rising trend in successive collections. It is concluded that the vegetative propagation of jequitiba-rosa by cutting technique is feasible, especially when using apical cuttings and IBA application showed no significant effects indicating their use in propagation by cuttings jequitiba-rosa. |
