| Abstract | This paper presents the results of an adaptation of a coastal hydrodynamic numerical model (FUNWAVE) of the Boussinesq class, to simulate the generation and propaRBRH — Revista Brasileira de Recursos Hídricos Volume 15 n.4 Out/Dez 2010, 05-15 15 gation of ship waves in shallow water. This adaptation enables the model to simulate situations of ship waves in navigation canals and waterways, taking into account coastal phenomena such as refraction, breaking, run-up and currents. Validation of the model may help to analyze erosive processes caused by ship waves on the banks of navigation canals, waterways and lakes. Key-words: ship waves, Boussinesq models, shore processes. |
