Abstract	This paper presents the results of a metric analysis performed on the degree theses in Library and Information Science at the National University of Mar del Plata. The main objective of this research is to provide an overview of the themes and methodologies chosen by students. The work was conducted on a sample of all theses submitted and approved. For the data analysis were taken the following variables: year of approval, director, mode, topic, type of research, methods, data collection techniques, information units studied and agreed areas by the Schools of Library and Science of Information in MERCOSUR. The results can be very useful for decision at the time of curriculum reform, redefining skills and professional profiles, as well as to consider the development of lines and areas of study for application in research groups of the discipline.
