| Abstract | Genetic bases of Characteristics of Agronomic Importance in Goiabeira-Serrana (Acca sellowiana) Taking into account the unique flavor and potential of the its fruits, the Goiabeira-Serrana (Acca sellowiana) it is being object of investigation through a Program of Genetic Breeding, established for Epagri. The success in the development of commercial cultivars it is highly dependent of the scientific knowledge of several aspects, especially of the magnitude of the genetic variance related to the characteristics to be bred, of the combining ability of the genitors and of the determination of the genetic mechanisms responsible for the main agronomic traits. In this context, this work was conceived to determine the genetic bases for characteristics of agronomic importance, based on a diallel crossing involving six genotypes. The experimental design consisted of a RCB, with four repetitions, being each plot constituted of 10 plants for the progenies F1 and of 5 plants, in the case of genitors. The data collected on plants refer to the characteristics: Plant height (AP), Diameter of the stem (DCa) and Diameter of canopy (DCo). The quantitative characteristics related to the fruits were: Fruit Weight (PF), Relationship length/diameter (CD), Resistance of the peel (RC), flesh yield (RP), Solids Contentens (SST) and Acidity (ATT). The qualitative characteristics were: Fruit format, Insert of the sepals, pulp Color, Consistence of the peel, Rugosity, Coloration and Shine of the peel, Productivity and Presence of vacuous between peel and pulp. The averages of the quantitative characteristics were submitted to the Analysis of Variance, followed by the test LSD. The other variables were submitted to the non parametric analysis, based on the χ test. The estimate of the genetic parameters was obtained with the employment of the model IV of Griffith (1956). The treatment effect was considered as fixed and decomposed in general combining ability (CGC) and specific combining ability (CEC). In three pre-selected crossings based on the origin of the genitor, the genetic characterization was accomplished with the use of microsatellites markers. Later, possible associations were analyzed between markers and phenotypic characteristics. Taking together the results of both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the genitors and progenies, it can be conclude that the genitors of interest are (i) 85 because it presented high fruit weight; however, with high peel resistance and flavor without attraction and (iii) the genitor 458, highly productive and with high flesh yield. Diallel analysis revealed that the addictive effect of the genes was predominant on the characteristic Plant Height. On the other hand, the high values of CEC |
