| Abstract | In the environment permits to screening more efficient cellulases for overcome current challenges in biofuel production and antibacterial activity. This study focuses on the isolation of efficient cellulase producing bacteria found in paper mill slurry waste which can be considered for use in large scale biorefining. Pure isolate cultures were screened for cellulase activity, observed antimicrobial activity, glucose and ethanol production. Seven isolates of paper mill slurry waste P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6 and P7 produced halos greater in diameter in that maximum (Brevundimonas aurantiaca), suggesting high cellulase activities. Paper slurry waste cultures were examined the cellulase assay for quantification of total cellulase activities. It was shown that 1% (w/v) CMC could induce total cellulase activities of 87.3±5.01 and 72.6±4.02 U/ml of glucose equivalents for P1. Antimicrobial activity of cellulase producing bacteria was identified from paper waste slurry involve in glucose and ethanol production. In glucose production from the isolate were highest in static (3.97±0.039 mg/100ml) and shaking (6.865±0.0980 mg/100ml) condition and ethanol production highest activities of static (1.93±0.0407 mg/100ml) and shaking (1.41±0.0392 mg/100ml) represented to it. |
