| Abstract | Considering the large percentage of individuals who claim to have entered the labor market still in its infancy in Brazil, this study aimed to investigate the impact of child labor in the formal labor income of the individual in adulthood. In addition, this analysis also considered the different income levels of workers. The generalized method of moments (GMM) and quantile regression was used for the micro-data from the PNAD 2008. The estimates indicate that child labor negatively affected the income from formal employment in adulthood and this impact was even higher considering the highest income quantile. Furthermore, it was found that good health positively influence wage levels. |
