| Abstract | The study "CHARACTERISTICS OF SELF-CARE IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS TYPE II, AT THE HEALTH CENTER OF TTIO, CUSCO 2017”. The general objective to determine the Characteristics of Self Care in Patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus, in the Ttio Health Center, Cusco 2017. The methodological design was descriptive and transversal, the sample consisted of 48 patients, the data collection was done through the structured survey. The results were presented in graphs with their respective analysis and interpretation. In terms of general characteristics, 72.9% were 61 years of age or older, 81.3% were female, 97.9% were from Wanchaq district, 35.4% had incomplete primary education, 64.6% were housewives, 41.7% have a disease time of 1 to 5 years. A total of 93.8% were on a daily basis, 58.3% were on medication, 66.7% never had nephrology consultations, 54.2% had never consulted cardiology, ophthalmology and dentistry, 93.8% had met their appointment medical, 83.3% consume 3 meals a day, 47.9% consume vegetables interdiary, 62.5% consume red meat 1 time a week, 68.8% consume white meat interdiary, 62.5% consume energy foods once a week. 85.4% walk, 97.9% perform physical activity less than 150 minutes a week, 54.2% perform physical activity interdiary. 54.2% brush their teeth twice a day, 62.5% never perform circulatory massages on their feet. |
