| Abstract | The provision of student support programmes has become an integral component in the delivery of Distance Education courses. Unfortunately, many of these programmes have stemmed from the perceived needs of their intended audience and not from research into actual student needs. Further, many of these programmes, like the Orientation programme at UCCQ, have been allowed to continue without any formal evaluation of student needs being undertaken. This paper presents some initial findings on the value to students of the UCCQ programme. |
