| Abstract | The use of saline water in the production of agriculture is challenge to be faced facing the rising demand of fresh water, as for the agricultural activity as for the urban and industrial supplying. So the use of saline water is an alternative that should be examined very carefully. The experimental was carried out in entirely casualizado with 5 levels of salinity (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 dS m -1 ) and 5 repetitions, the experimental unit represented by a vessel with capacity for 5 L, leaving only one plant in each vase. The characteristics assessed were: leaf area, fresh pasta, diameter and length of the root. Largest leaf area, fresh pasta, diameter and length of the root have been observed with the use of water with a lower salinity 2 dS m -1 , compared with higher salinities. The plants were affected by salinity of irrigation water, with more severe effects for larger leaf area and fresh pasta of the roots. The production of radish is an alternative for producers who have availability of saline water. |
