Bis lang ha t die F o r s c h u n g diese A n r e g u n g n i c h t a u f g e g r i f f e n ! ) . D i e seit d e m 11. J a h r h u n d e r t u n t e r s c h i e d l i c h v e r l a u f e n d e E n t w i c k l u n g des B i l d u n g s s t a n d e s in b e i d e n L ä n d e r n h a t w e i t r e i c h e n d e K o n s e q u e n z e n g e h a b t . G e l e h r t e w i e E r n s t R o b e r t C u r t i u s h a b e n die M e i n u n g v e r t r e t e n , d a ß a u f g r u n d dieser a u s e i n a n d e r t r e t e n d e n A u f f a s s u n g v o n B i l d u n g u n d U n t e r r i c h t , D e u t s c h l a n d an d e n g r o ß e n geis t igen B e w e g u n g e n des 12. u n d 13. J a h r h u n d e r t s so g u t w i e k e i n e n A n t e i l g e n o m m e n h a b e 2 ) .
