| Abstract | The snakes of Dimonika (Mayornbe, Peoples’ Republic of Congo).351 specimens representing 45 species have been collected in the vicinity of Dimonika (Mayombe, People’Republic of Congo). It is the richest known fauna for a forest area in Africa. Of the 45 snakes listed, four species (Cynodontophis notatus aetnulans, Dipsadoboa elongata elongata, Bothrophtalrnus brunneus and Atractaspis boulengen] seem to be new to the Peoples’Republic of the Congo. Three species (Geodipsas depressiceps depressiceps, Gonionotophis brussauxi et Bothrolycus ater) are new to Mayombe and extend to the South their known ranges. |
