Abstract	Resumo O presente artigo apresenta introdutoriamente a teoria do reconhecimento segundo a concepcao de Axel Honneth, considerado a terceira geracao da teoria critica, e que retoma o pensamento hegeliano correspondente ao periodo de Jena, para se contrapor as ideias dominantes na ciencia e na filosofia politica desde o inicio da modernidade que, junto com Hobbes, admitia que o grande problema para a compreensao da sociedade era a luta por sobrevivencia e pelo aumento de poder, que caracterizou o que Hobbes entendeu como estado de natureza, ou a luta de todos contra todos. Muito embora a teoria do reconhecimento seja aplicada a analise dos movimentos sociais, neste trabalho ela sera utilizada na perspectiva da Educacao, especificamente no âmbito do Conselho Escolar, como espaco privilegiado para a construcao de uma gestao democratica escolar. Essa analise se justifica pela necessidade de compreensao mais apurada das demandas do universo escolar no contexto do seculo vinte e um, com todas as grandes mudancas pelas quais a sociedade brasileira passa. Abstract This paper presents an introductory theory of recognition according to the conception of Axel Honneth, considered the third generation of critical theory, and that takes Hegelian thought for the period of Jena, to counter the dominant ideas in science and political philosophy from the early modernity, along with Hobbes, admitted that the big problem for the understanding of society was the struggle for survival and empowerment, which featured what Hobbes understood as a state of nature, or the struggle of all against all. Although the theory of recognition is applied to the analysis of social movements, in this work it will be used in the perspective of education, specifically in the context of the School Board, as a privileged space for the construction of a democratic school management. This analysis is justified by the need for more accurate understanding of the demands of the school environment in the context of the twenty-first century, with all the great changes that Brazilian society passes.
