Abstract	The purpose of this essay was to find out if Muslim girls from former Yugoslavia actively participated in any kind of organised sports and if the case was that they didn’t, my intentions were to find out why so was the case. I also wanted to see if there was anything that could facilitate the circumstances in order for them to participate? Is it possible to find a reason for them not participating in cultural diversity? As a method I’ve been using semi-structured interviews but I’ve also used the results of a project done by SISU concerning sports, participation, education and integration and a statistical Survey done by SCB and Riksidrottsförbundet. The results were that the girls did not participate in sports. The reason they didn’t was they couldn’t find the time to do so. They had too much schoolwork and had to help in the family. The girls are brought up in a strong primal group and have taken on the values of their family. There is a cultural diversity among the values of the family and these values have a firm grip on the girls. According to the girls there wasn’t very much that could facilitate their participation.
