| Abstract | The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of protected methionine supplementation (ALIMET ) on health and production parameters. Sampling was carried out at IASA 1 and 27 bovine calves were used, from 5 to 10 days of age until completing 90 days of age with treatment, randomly distributed in 3 groups. The groups were: G1 (control group): calves males and females fed with a formulated meal and milk without the supplementation of methionine; G2 (experimental group 1): calves males and females fed with the formulated meal and milk supplemented with 1.76g of methionine and G3 (Experimental group 2): calves males and females fed with the formulated meal and milk supplemented with 3.52g of methionine. The analyzed variables concerning productive parameters were; food consumption, weight, height at withers; These data were recorded from the beginning of the study until day 90, every 7 days. The other variables analyzed were regarding health parameters, which were: pH ruminal fluid before food consumption and after 3 hours, blood analysis (values were analyzed on day 1, 45 and 90) and presence of diarrhea and pneumonia… ver archivo adjunto |
