| Abstract | The pourpose of this thesis was to investigate how counselors working at the youth clinic views the clinic's function and how they address teenagers' sexuality. Four different counselors in Skane, Sweden were interviewed, using a qualitity approach. The result shows that the counselors considered the youth clinic as a free zone for young people and a meeting place where they can be comprehended and accepted. The counselors also regard themselves value-free and steady adults, who are not afraid to meet young people in their search of their sexuality. By analyzing the material from a social constructionist perspective, the results also show that the youth clinics can additionally be regarded as a control mechanism, maintaining the norms and beliefs around sexuality, that exist in Swedish society. |
