| Abstract | Among the aims assigned to the dam Sahla (Taounate, Rif – North Marocco), improvement in supply of drinking water for Taounate's city and its region, and developing irrigation in the irrigated perimeters are important purposes. Nevertheless, the waters present a high degradation nowadays because of the spillages of waste water and of waste by-products of olive oil extraction (called remains). This pollution, essentially produced by man actions, provokes processes of eutrophization, which raises severe problems at an ecological and environmental level, and affects to the exploiting water resources from dam. To solve this problem, there have been realized offers for improving water quality and using ecological techniques of extraction of olive oil without production of remains. Finally, there is described the need to popularize the above mentioned measures and to sensitize managers of oilfactories and administration, as well as to apply with more rigor the laws of environmental protection and the Water Law. |
