Abstract	The indices of quality of water that indicate possible changes being enough employees, so aim with this study apply the salinity-ISAL Index for surface waters of the State of Ceará reservoirs in order to evaluate the classification of the waters of Trussu reservoir, Ceará. The study area is located in the Alto Jaguaribe Basin in the South Central region of Ceará. The dam Trussu has a maximum storage capacity of 301 million m3 and a watershed of 1,590 km. 6 collected data were used in the period April/2013 to May/2014, each collection represented by 5 different points, by monitoring four attributes of water quality, which totals 120 analyzes. The ions used in the preparation of ISAL were Chloride (Cl), Sodium (Na), Magnesium (Mg) and the electrical conductivity of water (CE). The results showed that greater restrictions were for the Cl and Na exchange, followed by, Mg and CE. The values of ISAL proposed by the study remained between 15.95 and 79.68, classifying the waters between low to severe restriction. The reservoir does not suffer from high salinity, the major problem being the low salinity levels correlate with low levels of sodium (Na).
