| Abstract | La Troncal Sugar Mill since 2005 deliveries their electric power surpluses to the Market Electric Wholesaler, this meaning economic revenues for the company. In order to increase these surpluses an important change should be made inside the factory; the mill area consists of 6 mills and 3 cane knives impilled for 9 steam turbines, in order to use this steam flow for electric generation these turbines will replaced by electric motors of high yield, increasing the production of surpluses from 9.8 MW to 14.6 MW, this is achieved due to the efficiency of the steam turbine that move a mill is 65% while the turbine that move a turbogenerator has a efficiency of 80%. The execution of the project represents an economic expense that will be paid in two years.
