| Abstract | Pointed venus, Anomalocardia brasiliana (Gmelin, 1791), from natural beds of Santa Catarina Island and adjacent continental region (SE Brazil) were examined in respect of symbiotic associations. Holothuriophilus tomentosus (Ortmann, 1894) (Brachyura), Sphenia antillensis Dall & Simpson, 1901 (Bivalvia), and polychaete worms (Polychaeta) were found by macroscopic diagnosis. By analysis of histological sections, it was noted trematode sporocysts (Digenea), a metacestode (Cestoda) and two ciliates (Ciliophora). |
