| Abstract | The Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestao de Felgueiras (ESTGF) from Instituto Politecnico do Porto (IPP) was one of the first Universities in the country to have a certified Quality Management System according to the reference standard NP EN ISO 9001: 2000 and the first in the reference standard NP EN ISO 9001:2008. An institution open to improvement, the need to implement an Information System (IS) appeared naturally as a support to the Quality Management System (QMS). The IS will allow the optimization of processes and time spent, thus obtaining an improvement of content management, centralization of information and building workflows. It will also enable clear monitoring processes through the use of electronic automatic alerts and notifications and, ultimately, the dematerialization of the same.
