Abstract	From the reaction of CuI with an N,S-donor ligand (L) under different molar ratios, two discrete polynuclear copper(I) iodide complexes, [Cu2I2L2] (1) and [Cu7I7L3] (2) were isolated and characterised. Complex 1 contains a rhomboid-type Cu2I2 cluster, whilst complex 2 is the first example showing a pinwheel-type Cu7I7 cluster.
