Abstract	The aim of this text is construct a debate in theoretical ambit concerning to the new expressions of urban centrality, more particularly consubstantiate in critical analyses to the possible implications these to the deepening of the estrangement of the quotidian life in the city. For this, an analytical clipping in the Shopping Centers and in the relative aspects to the rationality of these equipments imbricate form to the social and spatial processes in the city it was realized. It was considerated the relating existed between the analytical clipping and the processes more specifically in the intermediate cities. In this perspective, the pressing of new functions of the intermediate cities for the capital assigns the creation of new spatial forms that finish for imposing the territorialization of hegemonic economic processes, being the Shopping Centers material expressions of these. The possibility of insertion of these equipments in the intermediate cities, as well as the relevance of this category of cities for the economic dynamics, implicate in processes of collision between what it exists and what are imposed. This collision if constitutes revealer of the ruptures inside in the latent continuities in the dynamics of the spatial and social processes.
