| Abstract | In this work, the larval diversity of the Trichoptera order was evaluated in four sites established along the Gaira River, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Attributes of the assemblies were assessed, such as diversity and abundance, and environmental variables were also considered attributes such as temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, nitrates, nitrites and phosphates. The collection of organisms was carried out through a Surber network and through manual capture. Throughout the study a total of 443 organisms were collected, represented in 10 families and 23 genera, among which Smicridea (Hydropsychidae) was higher with 22, 1% followed by Leptonema with 18.5% and Phylloicus (Calamoceratidae) with 12 ,4%. The principal components analysis (PCA) showed that the "Puerto Mosquito" site is characterized by having the highest abundances of Chimarra and Zumatrichia. The site "La Victoria" was highlighted by the dominance of Helycopsyche. While the site "San Lorenzo" by the high abundances of Phylloicus and Polycentropus. While "La Cascada" by Atopsyche and Xiphocentron. The genera Smicridea and Leptonema are present in the four sampling sites; "Puerto Mosquito" presented a greater number of individuals with 165 in total, represented in 13 genera of which Chimarra, Smicridea and Leptonema in the highest abundances, with 37.6%; 18.8% and 14.5% respectively. This study showed 51,1% of the genera and 66.7% of the families of trichoptera registered for Colombia. The site that presented the greatest wealth was the site "La Victoria" and the first record of the Amazonatolica genre from the Columbian Caribbean. |
