Abstract	The early years of a child's life are important for the rapid development and maturation of the various attributes, traits and skills that are the key asset of the person. The processes and the time at which they are held, and the connection to the intellectual or adaptive capacity, is generally designated by the term mental development (Wechesler, 1967). The research is aimed at children attending the nursery school with age range between 4 and 6 years from central Italy. The instrument used is the WPPSI-Scale Wechesler at preschool and primary school. The scale consists of 11 subtests (containing practical tests), 6 of these are the verbal scale and 5, the performance scale. The objectives are to validate and update the WPPSI, detect the mental age and mental development of those involved in research, provide tools to support the teaching method used to set up a personalized training to the learners.
