| Abstract | Spanish women have been subjected to a considerable number of changes. These occurred particularly during the Second Republic when there was an attempt of establishing the figure of modern women. Moreover, the beginning of the Francoism brought the model of the angel in the house. The women's ideal across the different periods is reflected on magazines. The aim of this work is to study the evolution of women's image by means of magazines. Furthermore, the woman portrayals in the two periods will be compared putting an emphasis on the differences. |
