| Abstract | An important activity in the design or enhancement of a particular database application consists of identifying the integrity constraints that must hold on the database, which are used to detect and evaluate inconsistencies to buildup an efficient spatial database. It is also possible to improve data quality by imposing constraints upon data entering the database. The main contribution of this paper is a survey of existing approaches to deal with any inconsistency issue in spatial databases that emphasize the current state of the art and that outline research issues in the context of consistency tolerance to the better spatial database applications. |
