Abstract	An actual knowledge of the territory is fundamental to a more sustained decision-making process, maximizing the analysis and evaluation of policies in a multiscalar perspective. Some examples of tools applied to the Portuguese case will be presented to include in a Spatial Decision Support System (SDSS), to monitor and evaluate policies. Thus, three sets of tools will be presented: a) Advanced Query platforms based on two databases: one with the major national and regional Policy documents and other with statistical information consultation; b) a WEBGIS, as a transversal platform for visual and geographical representation of data and modeling; c) Geographic modeling methods, visualized in exercises used as examples to support decision making, using techniques.
