| Abstract | espanolLa alexitimia es una alteracion del estado de animo que se manifiesta en forma de dificultad para tomar conciencia sobre los propios sentimientos y fantasias, asi como para poder expresarlos verbalmente. Ha sido relacionada con el desarrollo de otras patologias y con la presencia de enfermedades cronicas. En el caso particular de la insuficiencia renal, se ha relacionado con una peor adherencia al tratamiento y mayor riesgo de mortalidad. Por ello, nos planteamos valorar su presencia en un grupo de pacientes en hemodialisis en nuestro centro. EnglishAlexithymia is a mood alteration manifested by difficulty in becoming aware of one's feelings and fantasies, as well as being able to express them verbally. It has been related to the development of other pathologies and the presence of chronic diseases. In the case of renal failure, it has been associated with poorer adherence to treatment and increased risk of mortality. Therefore, we consider assessing the presence of alexithyma in a group of hemodialysis patients in our center. |
