| Abstract | The seasonal change is one from the factors to consider in the embryogenic answer of diverse crops, the variations of temperature, humidity and precipitations cause fluctuations in the plants that influence in the behavior in vitro of the explants. This study was carried out with the objective of evaluating the influence of the time of the year in which the explants were taken on the answer in vitro of Robusta genotypes. Samples were carried out during every month of the year, the explants were cultivated in a culture medium with the mineral salts MS, and 0.5 and 2.0 mg.l -1 of 2,4-D and kinetina, respectively. It was observed that the time of the year in that the samples were selected exercised a marked effect in the answer of the explants. For the studied conditions was favorable to take the leaves samples in the periods May - June, January - February and November - December, due to the few index of peroxidases activity, phenolic oxidation and fungous contamination, as well as a high percentage of callus formation and bigger content of proteins in the same ones. It was determined that the enzymatic peroxidases activity could constitute an important marker for the selection of samples in coffee. Key words: fungous contamination, peroxidases activity, phenolic oxidation |
