| Abstract | The vision of the future for armored and mechanized military structure, as spelled out by (DARPA, 2001), includes the use of mixed teams of h uman and robotic forces on a dynamic and rapidly changing battlefield. Successful implementation of this shift will require autonomous and semi-autonom ous robotic forces and a command and control infrastruc ture that will allow human, robotic, and mixed team s to be controlled quickly and easily. This infrastru ct re will need to allow human commanders to contro l he robot teams in a similar manner to how they command human teams, that is, in the language of the military, not the language of robotic control theory. I n this paper, we present an intelligent command and control interface built on framework of cooperative in terface agents that reflect roles found in current com- |
