| Abstract | The preservation of the environment in recent years has become one of the great challenges for the sustainable development of humanity and the health sector is no stranger to this premise. The environmental impacts of this sector, which generate risks to people's health and irreversible damage to the environment, have been of international concern, involving social, economic and environmental aspects. For this reason, the regulations are increasingly demanding; and increasingly, companies in this sector decide to adopt voluntary guidelines for good environmental management practices, which allow them to reach their goals at all levels and achieve the proposed environmental objectives. For the fulfillment of these objectives, it is necessary for organizations to face the new challenges of business competitiveness in compliance with current legal regulations within a framework of resource optimization. This document aims to provide a resource optimization tool for the outpatient surgery health sector, aligning the common requirements of ISO 14001: 2015 and the applicable legal requirements, and proposing a methodology for their integration |
