| Abstract | Modernity presents changes in social, economic and environmental relations, contributing to the emergence of a set of reflections on these forms and showing the existence of a society based on the risks resulting from these relations. The risks are not only for the population, but also for the very existence of the supply of natural resources in the environment. As a result of these reflections, uncertainty arises opening spaces for the promotion of collective experiences that present more appropriate forms of interrelationship in these reflections. Based on this assumption, the objective of this work, anchored in a systematic theoretical review, is to understand and analyze how the relations between environmental issues and traditional populations are presented as reflective alternatives in this context of uncertainty in modernity. As an alternative model for the use of space, traditional peoples present quite prominent responses to environmental issues through their way of life and relationships with nature, mirroring past models to experience the present and build a future for the next generations. Such perceptions are verified and affirmed by science, which seeks to investigate the effects of advances in human existence and their needs in environmental conditions. It is understood, therefore, that the minimization of negative damages to nature is only possible through the junction between the contributions of science, society and nature. As an exemplary case, traditional populations present in a practical and concrete way, alternatives to the challenges presented by production and consumption today, which lacks more sustainable practices in this relationship. |
