Abstract	The discovery of a set of glass grenades and some pieces of artillery in the excavations of the Castle of Chinchilla allows an approach, from an archaeological perspective, to the most important episode of the War of Independence in the territory of the present day province of Albacete. Their joint study provides specific data on the defensive and offensive military siege tactics during the conflict.
