| Abstract | The construction industry productivity has been severely affected by the lack of actions that promote the improvement of activities related to the processes of movement and storage. Researches in this area become necessary, as improvements of such sub activities converge to the optimization of the process. The use of lean philosophy in construction sites has proven to be efficient in achieving this goal. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between lean practice maturity in three construction companies in the city of Fortaleza, Ceara, and their compliance with several principles regarding movement and storage. For that, a checklist was applied considering aspects such as transportation and material allocation, movement and well-being of the workers. It was verified that the results point to the existence of a proportionality between the lean practice and the fulfillment of these principles. The listing of relevant practices also allowed to better identifying the potential for improvement by managers and employees. In addition, the compliance with these principles is capable of significantly impact the productivity of the company without necessarily representing large increases in the costs of the enterprise. |
