| Abstract | This paper analyzes the journalistic discourse of Tpm magazine, to understand how gender representations are approached, debating the role of journalism in discussions about gender and body, from the perspective of poststructuralist studies. For this, it makes use of the deconstruction, proposed by Jacques Derrida, to identify concepts, binarisms, hierarchies, textual patterns and discursive paradoxes. Tpm continues the traditional recipe used by Brazilian women's publications, which address a universe based on motherhood, marriage, and body conditions. The magazine reproduces and amplifies a violent hierarchy between genders, as well as reaffirming a patriarchal and heteronormative identity policy. |
