Aim of Investigation: In the cat, we have shown that SPA induced by PAG stimulation was essentially obtained from sites located in its ventral part including the dorsal Raph6 nucleus (D~). This contrasts with numerous studies performed in the rat where efficient sites were widely distributed throughout the PAG. We have reinvestigated the role of this region in this latter species and also compared its effects with those induced by NP~I
