| Abstract | The rights and dignity n animals is an issue that every day becomes more relevant, this probably roughly is because every day we are more consistent with the need for equal treatment with other species, the function of each kind understanding within distribution of the planet's ecosystem. The purpose of this paper is to inquire about regulations, and history of the animal rights within the framework of Human Rights. Without leaving aside the scientific basis and environmental care of the animals along with the psychological aspects of human beings that motivate conservation of other species as a basis for developing a healthy social structure. Historical background of animal rights, regulatory framework in Colombia, foreign national and legal protection, animal testing, bullfighting and hunting exotic animals: With regard to Colombian law on the subject, the following topics were developed. We conclude that there regulations about animal rights in particular on the subject of pain but only in public law, however there is a need to update these laws with a reform of the oversight processes, as the defense of Article 79 of the Constitution is insufficient to the needs of protection and recognition of dignity to animals. It follows that all is not far from the recognition of animal rights as an extension of the rights of individuals. |
