| Abstract | espanolCon el objetivo de conocer la helmintofauna en areas naturales protegidas en Mexico, se presenta un inventario de los helmintos parasitos de peces dulceacuicolas de la Reserva de la Biosfera Tehuacan-Cuicatlan, region Oaxaca. Entre octubre y noviembre del 2015, se revisaron 235 peces pertenecientes a 13 especies en 21 sitios. Se encontraron 1,466 helmintos pertenecientes a 16 taxones: 6 trematodos (3 adultos y 3 formas larvarias), 4 monogeneos, 1 cestodo (adulto) y 5 especies de nematodos (4 adultos y 1 forma larvaria). Las especies Pseudoparacreptotrema macroacetabulata, Schyzocotyle acheilognathi y Rhabdochona kidderi kidderi mostraron las prevalencias mas altas (100%) en al menos 1 sitio. Esta ultima especie presento la mayor abundancia (34±0), mientras que Urocleidoides simonae presento la intensidad promedio mas elevada (116±0). La riqueza de especies es baja en comparacion con estudios previos realizados en otros sitios del rio Papaloapan; Vieja fenestrata presenta la mayor riqueza de helmintos (5). La mayoria de los registros son nuevos para la Reserva de la Biosfera Tehuacan-Cuicatlan, region Oaxaca. Los datos de esta investigacion seran de utilidad en estudios ecologicos, de relacion parasito-huesped, biogeograficos y de conservacion, en la Reserva de la Biosfera Tehuacan-Cuicatlan en el area de Oaxaca. EnglishIn this study, a checklist of the helminth parasites of freshwater fishes from Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve in the area of Oaxaca is presented. From October to November 2015, 235 fish of 13 species were analysed from 21 localities. A total of 1,466 worms of 16 helminth taxa were recorded: 6 trematodes (3 adults and 3 metacercariae), 4 monogeneans, 1 adult cestode and 5 nematodes (4 adults and 1 larva). The helminth species Pseudoparacreptotrema macroacetabulata, Schyzocotyle acheilognathi, and Rhabdochona kidderi kidderi reached the highest prevalence (100%) in at least 1 site; Rhabdochona kidderi kidderi showed the highest abundance (34±0), while Urocleidoides simonae presented the highest average intensity (116 ± 0). The species richness showed low values compared with previous studies in the Papaloapan River; the fish Vieja fenestrata had the highest helminth species richness (5). Most helminth records presented here are new to Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve, Oaxaca region. The data generated in this study will be useful in ecological, host-parasites relationship, biogeographic and conservation studies in the Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve in the area of Oaxaca. |
