| Abstract | This paper attempts to present the Transparency Act and analyse the effects after its approval so as to identify possible scarcities and detail some proposals for improvements that would make this legal text the most complete and best performing of the European Union. In order to do so, it is going to be taken into consideration the situation of Spain in the European Union and the recommendations emanating from supranational bodies and organizations in charge of promoting transparency in the public sector. Furthermore, this project will focus on the degree of transparency of the autonomous communities in 2014 by establishing a relationship between the communities that changed more towards transparency and analysing the reasons or factors that contributed to this huge change. In short, it is a study that condenses all the information concerning transparency in Spain and focuses on the autonomous communities by offering the reader a critical vision with proposals devised under the lens of a political scientist and jurist interested in democratic quality and accountability. |
