Abstract	The “High Pressure Laminate Production Operations Manual” project is motivated by the need of providing an effective answer to the lack of organized and written information, namely regarding the functions of the diverse equipment used to produce the High Pressure Laminate at Sonae Industria de Revestimentos. The development of the project demanded a clear involvement with the productive process, combined with information the gathering of knowledge and the work experience of those who handle industrial machinery. Several meetings and brainstorming sessions have been carrying out with the purpose of clarifying doubts and find solutions of possible failures or unexpected situations of the equipments handling. At the same time it was necessary to analyze all the operations and every procedure to the minimum detail, to obtain the sequence of all the actions needed to carry out each task. In a later stage the manual was written now containing all the operations of the production of high pressure laminate as well as the solutions to possible unexpected situations. A visual improvement of the instrument panels was also contemplated; the objective was to ease the understanding of the procedures documented in the manual as well as the everyday actions of those who handle the equipment. This report includes the essential of the manual and also attempts to illustrate the tactics used and the process which culminated in its genesis. An obvious consequence of the High Pressure Laminate Production Operations Manual is that the methods and the best practices are now available to everyone in the company, making the job easier and more flexible.
