| Abstract | The design of the proposal from the perspective of the Teaching for Understanding, was motivated in part by: the results of ongoing ssessments of Communication Skills course in previous years, the results of entrance examinations for the Bachelor of Music program; and conclusions of meetings of experts on musical understanding, aspect that was based on the work of N. Harnoncourt, as a thematic guide. This paper presents the results of a methodological application based on the principles of the Teaching for Understanding, developed in a course of Bachelor of Music Program of the Universidad Tecnologica de Pereira. For this program, design, implementation and follow-up step by step development of the proposal mark a milestone; in consequence, there is a break with the current traditional model in the form of identification, prioritization, management and evaluation of the themes or content of the course, the relationship between students and teacher, and in general, forms of interaction and communication in the classroom. |
