Abstract	RESUMEN: El significado de muchos nombres de animales y plantas en la Historia naturalis de Plinio el Viejo es a menudo muy dificil de identificar, tal como sucede por ejemplo con el termino «dasipus». En ocasiones estos problemas se pueden resolver mediante la comparacion con las fuentes de Plinio. Por consiguiente, «dasipus» no significa un tipo de conejo o de liebre, sino que parece una de las numerosas confusiones de Plinio cuando maneja fuentes griegas. Los traductores escogen diferentes soluciones para dar equivalencias de estos nombres. ABSTRACT: The meaning of many names of animals and plants in Pliny's Naturalis Historia is often difficult to ascertain, like the word «dasypus» for example. Sometimes these problems can be solved by collating with Pliny's sources. Therefore, «dasypus» does not mean a kind of rabbit or hare, but appears to be one of Pliny's misunderstandings of the Greek language. Translators choose different solutions to adapt such names.
