| Abstract | In this paper, we analyze a single server queue subject to catastrophes, server failures and non-zero repair time whose arrival and service rates are suggested by a chain sequence. Closed form expressions for the transient probabilities of system size are obtained using continued fractions technique. The corresponding steady state probabilities and some system performance measures are deduced. It is observed that the steady state probabilities do not exist in the absence of catastrophes. Further, reliability and availability of the system are analyzed. The effect of system parameters on system size probabilities are also illustrated numerically. |
