| Abstract | This research focuses on the role of the children’s library in the Cancer Hospital “Dharmais” Jakarta. The purpose of the research is to find out the role of the library for pediactric patients. The research uses descriptive-qualitative research methods. Informants of the research were determined based on consideration of people who know the background of the establishment of library children and patients who have have used the children’s library in the Cancer Hospital “Dharmais”. The research shows there are four rules of the Cancer Hospital “Dharmais”. The first is the role of psychology, which helps children in reducing fear and boredom after therapy and meditation. The second is the role of social, in order to that children can keep socialize and communicate with other children and the outsiders. The third is role of recreation, which makes the library as an entertaining recreation facility. The fourth is the role of education, library provides and facilitates children in order to gain knowledge through a variety of book collections. |
