| Abstract | Wireless mobile nodes have extremely limited resources and are easily vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. The traditional techniques that can detect or prevent DoS attacks in wired networks often require considerable resources such as processing power, memory, and storage space. Hence, it is not possible to deploy the traditional techniques on the wireless nodes. In this paper, we identify the requirements and challenges that are to be addressed in order to efficiently deal with DoS attacks on wireless nodes. Then we consider a general architecture for different types of wireless networks and propose a framework to counteract DoS attacks in the general architecture. We will also present the simulation results of our approach and directions for the future work. |
