| Abstract | The erosion/deposition patterns in the JET divertor were determined in the ITER-like wall (ILW) campaigns ILW-1 to ILW-3 using marker samples. The ILW configuration shows profound changes compared to the patterns observed with all –carbon JET (JET-C): The total material deposition rate in the divertor decreased by a factor of 4–9 by mass compared to the deposition rate of carbon in JET-C. This decrease of material deposition is accompanied by a decrease of the deuterium retention in the divertor by a factor of about 20. These observations are consistent for all three ILW campaigns despite considerable differences in strike point positions and heating powers. |
